BARRY FEAR BOCCIA ATHLETE PLAYER

Barry Fear

I like competing against other athletes and enjoy the game. Boccia is one of my favourite sports and I enjoyed being committed to it. Boccia means a lot to me and I am able to motivate myself through the sport. I train three times a week on the northern beaches of Sydney. Recently I have been training very hard as I am about to represent Australia in Hong Kong early in August.

Recently I competed at the 2009 Boccia nationals in Sydney and won a bronze medal.

I enjoy every aspect of Boccia including physical fitness. Boccia has enabled me to represent my country and possibly one day represent Australia in the London Paralympics in 2012. I am looking forward to the upcoming challenge and competition in Hong Kong.

Thank you Barry for sharing your story. I have a 16 year old son with Cerebral Palsy and you have given me some inspiration about a sport that he could participate in. All the best in the future with future Boccia events.
