CARMILLA KIRKMAN BOCCIA ATHLETE

Carmilla Kirkman

I enjoyed being in Boccia because I get a lot of satisfaction out of it. Since being involved in Boccia I have learnt a great deal about the sport. My parents were involved in the Italian Bocce club, however I really did not know much about the game. My father won several trophies and was one of the highest ranked players within the club. It was because of his experience, that I fell in love with the game, and developed a competitive nature.

I played in competition eight years ago in the Rob White Cup, but since then I have been playing regularly three times a week and has improved my standard. One day I hope to represent Australia and possibly play in the Paralympics.
