Celebrating the difference you make!
Children and adults with cerebral palsy (CP) have shared their stories, photos and videos with Australia about how they’re making a difference in life or how someone else has made a difference to them.
Congratulations to everyone who has participated and shared their story on the ‘You be the difference’ website.
Each state has selected its most inspiring story which you can view on each state page. Woman’s Day will feature one of these entries to conclude the campaign.
Take a look at these stories - every one will inspire and motivate you!

Cerebral Palsy Tasmania – Creating Possibilities Together
Cerebral Palsy Tasmania is a statewide charitable organisation that offers support and assistance to people affected by cerebral palsy. Established in 1963 by parents of children with CP, the organisation has grown and changed over the ensuing years to become the peak body for people with cerebral palsy in Tasmania.
We are proud to provide our support to hundreds of people with CP in our state, and offer a range of services designed to address the sometimes complex and ever-changing needs of our members. Our services include:
- Equipment and Technology Library
Supplying all equipment and technology requirements to school students across the state in public, independent and catholic schools. - Funding Assistance
Providing financial assistance for the purchase of equipment, technology or services to assist people with disabilities in their day to day lives. - Transport
Our fleet of buses transports over 50 children with disabilities to and from school each day in southern Tasmania. - Australian Disability Enterprises
We provide employment opportunities to adults with disabilities. Employees receive training in numeracy and literacy, retail operations and waste minimisation. - Hart Walker Program
Cerebral Palsy Tasmania coordinates the Hart Walker in our state.
The majority of our services are operated with the proceeds of our fundraising events. Cerebral Palsy Tasmania currently receives no funding from State or Federal government specifically for people with CP, we heavily rely on the generosity of the public to raise the money required to keep these programs going, as we strongly believe in enhancing the quality of life and nurturing the capabilities of Tasmanians with a disability.
